What's so special about a crock pot?

The thing about a crock pot is really convenience imo. You can do the same thing on your stove although it would require you set it to the lowest setting in a relatively thick pot or alternatively you could bake your brisket like a roast, or if you want to get really really creative go dig a hole in your back yard line the bottom with coals and do deep-pit.
